YOUNGSTOWN AREA COMMUNITY THEATRE ALLIANCE
ARTS CHANGE LIVES
ARTS CHANGE LIVES, was initially started by YACTA as a means to promote all phases of the performing arts. It was originally kicked off at the "3rd Annual Marquee Awards" in August of 2006. It is comprised of a number of phases. The first phase, is simply getting the name, concept and logo in front of the public. This has been happening on a somewhat sporadic basis through the spring and summer of 2007. The second phase is to increase that awareness. Beginning in the fall of 2007 many theatres will display signs, buttons and other items which will have the ARTS CHANGE LIVES logo attached.
ACTIVITIES
The ARTS CHANGE LIVES promotion will be comprised of many things. Some activities will be one-time events while others will be on-going. Below is partial listing of planned activities, to date:
- • Various Theatre Classes for Children & Adults
- • Booths at Various Events Around the Mahoning Valley
- • Co-Sponsorship of "The 24-Hour Theatre" at TNT
- • Printed promotions such as signs, buttons, banners, posters, etc.
Each promotion is designed to to give both the participant and the general public a better understanding of the arts as well as offer those participants a productive and positive way of expressing themselves and to give them a creative outlet. Particular emphasis will be placed on children and teenagers, who are often in need of a creative outlet or any kind of outlet to help steer them to a positive and worthwhile path. Almost anyone who has been involved in the creative or performing arts for any length of time has a story about how the arts influenced someone they know or worked with.
As the promotion moves forward and begins to grow, many more facets will be added to those listed above. Watch this website for future news about ARTS CHANGE LIVES or give us a call at 330-799-6176.
